SCN SPEED NETWORKING / HELP

A little help.
A lot of connection.

This is a working browser rehearsal. The separate live meeting test supports shared registration, room controls, and synchronized participant cues. It still needs acceptance testing in a real Zoom meeting.

Run your first rehearsal

  1. Open the host rehearsal, choose Attendees, and load the sample group or add your own people.
  2. Set your round length and number of rounds. Save the settings.
  3. Try the 30-second practice round. Practice does not count toward introductions.
  4. Start a regular round. Each room has two people; the countdown prompts the second person to speak halfway through.
  5. Pause, add 30 seconds, or end the round early. Automatic progression is optional and leaves 10 seconds between rounds.
  6. Open Follow-ups after a completed round. Select an attendee to see who they met, or export the event as a CSV.

How matching works

Pairs cannot repeat within an event. Chapter exclusion is a strict rule when enabled. Previous events influence pairing preferences, but reconnections are allowed in a new event. Attendees who have waited receive priority.

The app finds the largest valid set of pairs. Keeping one person in the same room is a preference: when necessary, both groups may change so more people can meet. If rules make a full round impossible, the main-room list explains who is waiting. Rules are never silently relaxed.

Attendees and recovery

Hosts, observers, note-takers, and excluded attendees are not matched. To rehearse host participation, give that attendee the Participant role. A person added or excluded during a round affects the next round; current rehearsal assignments remain visible. Live disconnect detection and immediate room repair are not part of this browser rehearsal.

Use one host tab. The rehearsal saves after each action. Reloading restores the clock from its deadline; if the round expired while the page was closed, it finishes when you reopen it. Automatic progression only runs while the host page is open, and a late browser wakeup does not invent missed rounds.

The attendee’s Preview button opens a read-only view in another tab of the same browser. It does not share their profile across devices or invite them to a meeting.

Your rehearsal data

Names, chapters, scheduling links, goals, and matching history are stored in this browser’s local storage. The rehearsal does not send these fields to an SCN backend or Zoom. Other people using this browser profile can access them. Avoid sensitive information.

New event retains attendees and previous pairing counts but clears the detailed follow-up list for the previous event. Export that list first if you need it. Clear rehearsal data removes the stored rehearsal; previously downloaded CSV files must be deleted separately. No emails or invitations are sent.

Private host app and website guests

Presidents can now share a guest website link from their Zoom host controls. Guests register in a browser using their Zoom name and wait for the host to confirm a roster match. Presidents can also create advance signup links in the event planner. No guest Zoom app installation is needed. Follow the current Zoom and guest guide for installation, hosting, and removal.

Try the live meeting test

Open the live app inside Zoom. The meeting host takes control, attendees register, and the host approves their names against the Zoom roster. Starting a round moves approved attendees. Keep the host window open in the main meeting. A lost connection or unexpected room change pauses the timer; recover a pending transition before continuing. Event records expire after 24 hours and are removed by hourly cleanup.

Set up SCN’s Zoom app

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace using an SCN-owned account with developer permissions.
  2. Use the developer build flow to create a General App and enable Zoom Apps. Use SCN Speed Networking as the working name.
  3. Use development credentials first. Keep the client secret in server-side hosting settings; do not paste it into this page or commit it to Git.
  4. After a development deployment exists, set its HTTPS app home URL to the /networking/app/ route. Add its exact domain to the app’s domain allow list. The local browser preview alone is not a Zoom app deployment.
  5. Complete server authorization, shared session storage, participant identity, and live room synchronization before hosting a real event. The developer runbook in the repository lists those implementation gates.
  6. Install the development app on SCN’s account and test in a meeting you own. The Check Zoom connection button checks the SDK environment only; it never creates or changes rooms.

Public Marketplace availability requires Zoom’s review. SCN must provide accurate privacy, terms, support, and usage documentation for the completed app, along with the required review materials.
